All Saints Church in Knoxville is seeking a receptionist/secretary. The qualified candidate will work closely with all clergy and staff members, and especially with our other receptionist and secretary. All Saints is a very vibrant, active parish with many volunteers and parishioners and a busy office atmosphere.
Job Description/hours:
• Receptionist/secretary hours are 8:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday and Friday 8:30-12:30. (34 hours per week).
• The position is non-exempt and paid hourly.
• The position is eligible for all diocesan benefits including retirement plans, medical benefits, and paid time off per diocesan policy.
Responsibilities:
• Provide secretarial and clerical services to the Pastor, parish staff, and parish organizations.
• Provide receptionist services for the parish office including answering calls, the recording of phone messages, the handling of routine questions about policies, events, etc., and greeting visitors.
• Prepare weekly bulletin communication for distribution at Masses.
• There is room in this position for increased responsibility and growth depending on a candidate’s experience. However, the primary role is to welcome parishioners and volunteers and support parish staff and volunteers with administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
• Candidates must be excellent communicators and have a welcoming demeanor.
• Possess a high attention to detail and should be willing to take on more responsibility if asked.
• Have high school or college degree.
• Some work experience with the public is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products is preferred.
• Candidate does not have to be bilingual (English and Spanish) but it would be a plus.
