Established in 2004 as part of the ‘Growing in Faith Together’ Capital Stewardship Campaign, the Capital Education Trust Fund, or CEFT, serves a dual purpose.
First, the fund provides supplemental tuition support assistance to Catholic school children most in need of financial support. We believe that every child who desires to receive a Catholic education should receive one regardless of financial hardship. You can read more about the Tuition Assistance Program by visiting the Tuition Assistance section of the Schools page.
Second, the fund provides parishes with opportunities to receive funding for faith formation projects that otherwise could not be achieved without outside support.
The CEFT is a crucial part of the Diocese of Knoxville’s ministry of providing both Catholic education and faith formation to all with a desire to grow in their Catholic identity.
The Board of Trustees for the CETF meets twice a year, once in May and once in October, to review parish applications. Final funding recommendations are made by the Board of Trustees and approved by the bishop.
